The shading is great and so is the orientation of it's body to the foreground. It kinda looks like a Myr.
Ahh I remember those, well magic was my old inspiration to get into illustration, tho this badboy's original concept was actually a lot more like the Metalic Sliver card.

Anything involving chickens is instantly funny. I like how it's portrayed as a sort of deity. The chicken is all like "Behold! I have given unto you poultry! Love and fear me!"
